The Uganda branch of We The World is a dynamic and vibrant extension of the global We The World movement, dedicated to fostering sustainable development, promoting human rights, and empowering communities across Uganda. Our mission is to build a world that works for all by creating partnerships and initiatives that address critical social, economic, and environmental challenges in Uganda.

Community Engagement: We The World – Uganda Branch places a strong emphasis on community involvement, ensuring that our projects and initiatives are community-driven and locally relevant. We work closely with local leaders, organizations, and residents to co-create solutions that reflect the unique needs and aspirations of Ugandan communities.

Partnerships and Collaborations: Our branch collaborates with a wide range of partners, including non-governmental organizations (NGOs), government agencies, international bodies, and private sector stakeholders. These partnerships are crucial for leveraging resources, expertise, and networks to maximize our impact.

PROGRAMS & INITIATIVES

Green Uganda: A flagship environmental program focused on reforestation, clean water projects, and sustainable farming techniques.

EmpowerHer: A women’s empowerment initiative providing education, micro-financing, and mentorship to support female entrepreneurs.

Youth Rising: A program dedicated to youth development through educational scholarships, leadership training, and career counseling.

Health Access: Collaborative projects with local clinics and health professionals to enhance medical care availability and health education.

TEAM

Key Focus Areas:

  1. Sustainable Development:
    • Implementing community-based projects that promote sustainable agriculture, water conservation, and renewable energy.
    • Educating local communities on the importance of environmental stewardship and sustainable living practices.
  2. Human Rights and Social Justice:
    • Advocating for the rights of marginalized groups, including women, children, and people with disabilities.
    • Providing legal assistance and support to individuals and communities facing human rights violations.
  3. Education and Empowerment:
    • Establishing educational programs and vocational training to empower youth and adults with the skills needed for economic self-sufficiency.
    • Supporting initiatives that promote gender equality and women’s empowerment.
  4. Health and Well-being:
    • Partnering with local health organizations to improve access to healthcare services, especially in rural areas.
    • Running health awareness campaigns on issues such as HIV/AIDS, malaria, and maternal health.
  5. Community Building and Peace:
    • Facilitating dialogue and reconciliation processes in conflict-affected areas.
    • Promoting peacebuilding initiatives that foster unity and cooperation among diverse communities.

Utilizing advanced technology and intuitive web design, Partners of WE consisting of thousands of organizations and a mass movement of people create an ever-expanding social change network essential for a world that works for all.

🌏 WE Campaign: WE is an ongoing Awareness and Action Campaign; four WE Action Campaigns per year with culminating Global Public Events every 3 months. WE Inspire, Inform and Involve millions of people through our network in solutions to:

  • Ensure basic human needs and well being worldwide
  • Restore healthy eco-systems and environmental stewardship
  • Create a culture of peace and nonviolence – from individuals to nation-states.
